We strongly believe in supporting Charitable Organisations and pledge to support a Local, National and Foreign Aid Organisation each year.
2019 – 2020
HUGS
HUGS offer a range of services for bereaved parents and their families. Recognising that everyone is different and that we all grieve and find comfort in our own ways. Hugs provides local hospitals with keepsake boxes filled with gifts to help parents make memories with their baby in the short time that they get to spend together at the hospital. Support is offered through can one to one meeting, phone support, group meetings or chat via emails. For more information visit www.hugs.org.
Five Star Community Centre
Local People coming together and funding themselves to help the community, Jennifer and the team at the Five Star Community Centre in Wednesbury West Midlands arrange support and activities supporting adults with learning disabilities. They arrange weekly activities including a café, games, soft sports, art and crafts and even dancing. This Christmas they have arranged and funded a Santa’s grotto, disco and buffet. These activities are fully funded by the group of volunteers and by a limited amount of local support.
Betel UK
Betel UK is an independent Christian charity for men, women and families affected by the hardships that lead to social exclusion, especially homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse and long-term unemployment. Betel has welcomed over 12,000 people since opening its doors in 1996. Betel UK is dedicated to restoring homeless, addicted and long-term unemployed people to healthy, independent lifestyles. Provides a Drop in Centre and Floating Support for young people in and around North Worcestershire who are homeless or facing homelessness.
National Organisation:
Prostate Cancer UK
Prostate Cancer UK focuses on supporting men and providing information to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life.
Foreign Aid:
UCB Africa Mission
Mentoring and training students in remote schools to take on the role of mentor and teacher for future generations.
